About Me

My name is Maggie Morris. I'm a certified Celebrant, an April 2007 graduate of the Celebrant USA Foundation. I've  been writing for many years, have been published in several online magazines, and currently write for Suite101.  I also write for Ezine Articles. The joy of creating through writing is profoundly fulfilling for me, and crafting ceremonies, as I have learned to do in my training with the Celebrant USA Foundation, is especially rewarding because it meets a need that is increasingly obvious in our society: to recognize, acknowledge, and observe the milestone events in our lives.

About Celebrancy

The Celebrancy movement began in Australia in 1973 in response to a need for officiants to perform ceremonies of all types that were not specifically religious in nature. Celebrancy in the US began with the creation of the Celebrant USA Foundation in 2001 in Montclair, NJ. Since that time, 250 Celebrants have received training in the foundations of ritual and ceremony, and in specific types of ceremonies, including Weddings and Other Ceremonies for Couples, Funerals and Other Healing Ceremonies, and Ceremonies for Families and Children.
